Hua Hin & Bangkok Trip 2015

Thailand, colloquially termed as the land of smiles has plenty to offer for anyone looking for an ideal escapade. From its beautiful beaches, mouth-watering cuisines, shopping haven and some of the most stunning historical sites, there is certainly something for everyone.

1. Hua Hin, a popular beach resort getaway located southwest of Bangkok is one of the must-go places for anyone planning a trip to Thailand. The town certainly has a lot to offer from its stunning sandy shore to theme parks.

2. Stepping into Plearnwan is akin to journeying back in time where memorabilia from the yesteryears are displayed at just about every corner of this vintage village. Plearnwan is derived from a combination of the English words, ‘Play and Learn’ together with the Thai word ‘Wan’ which means yesterday. Visitors can find row of shops selling food, vintage items, clothing and etc.

3. The entrance of Plearnwan is certainly eye catching with wooden planks aesthetically arranged to form the roof section of the eco village resembling the olden days of Hua Hin.

4. The iconic Hua Hin Railway Station which literally interconnects with the town history that dates back to the 1920’s when the Thai Royal Family built a railway line from Bangkok to Hua Hin making the route more accessible for them to enjoy their summer recluse. Hua Hin’s station is also one of the oldest railway station in Thailand.

5. One of the latest attraction at Hua Hin is known as Venezia, a shopping village replicating some of the popular sights at Venice. Visitors can catch a glimpse of iconic site such as the San Marco’s bell tower and Grand Canal with Venetian gondolas at this newly built shopping theme park.

6. Nestled in a remote part of Hua Hin, Hua Hin Hills Vineyard offers a picturesque view of lush green landscape filled with rows of grape vines. One can’t help but to feel that they have been transported into another world altogether upon entering this beautiful vineyard.

7. From the balcony area of The Sala Wine Bar, visitors are treated with a beautiful view of the vast vineyard stretching across the horizon.

8. The vineyard also offers a personalised tour to learn more about how grapes are grown at the vineyard.

9. The famous Satorini Park, modelled after the white washed buildings at Santorini in Greece is undoubtedly a huge attraction for tourists. It is essentially a waterpark with amusement rides and a mini shopping locale with retail outlets selling branded and local designer fashion wears.

10. Amphawa floating market located west of Bangkok is another must go place for those who wants to be witness the chaotic yet charming floating market ambiance.

11. The boat ride along the canal is the best way to see up close and personal how the traders go about with their daily business; selling food, handicrafts, hats inside their wooden boat. The two-hour ride is also an eye opening experience as it takes visitor through the narrow waterway with a view of old wooden houses and shopfronts.

12. Inside the market, an exuberant view of boats slowly jostling among each other along the narrow canal greets the visitors. From food, souvenir, paintings, clothes and hats, the entire journey is an eye opening experience. One wouldn’t miss the sight of the traders signalling at tourists to take a look at their offerings.

13. Visitors can ask the boatman to stop at certain spot to hop into the marketplace or speciality area selling local candies.

14. Monastery such as Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon is a popular tourist destination at Ayutthaya. The main highlight is the large chedi (stupa) that can be seen from a distance offering a glimpse of the former glory of the ancient city.

15. At the heart of Bangkok city is where the bustling commercial districts lies with fancy malls and cafes, a testament of how modernisation has truly evolved the city. Places such as Siam Paragon, Chatuchak Weekend Market, Central World, Platinum Mall, Asiatique are all synonymous with shopping galore making it one of the world’s top tourist destination cities.
