Gastronomy Inc @ Wisma Scope, Bukit Jalil

Over the recent months, Wisma Scope has seen numerous big F&B brands stamping their footprints at this new office building adjacent to KL-Seremban Highway. With names such as Starbucks, Subway, Paparich and Secret Recipe, the venue certainly looks promising enough to attract a wider demographic beyond Scope International (subsidiary of Standard Chartered Bank) employees that reside in this building. Gastronomy Inc is yet another addition to the premises’ growing list of eateries, offering a blend of local and western belly soothing favourites. Crystal Chin who oversees the restaurant daily operation views Gastronomy Inc as a natural extension of her catering arm, with a selection of dishes that are handpicked from her catering menu.

Mee Siam with Fried Chicken Whole Leg (RM 12.80) is a good representation of her catering fares with flavourful sambal to compliment the stir fried rice vermicelli. The inclusion of fried chicken is certainly a welcome addition that adds more flavour to the overall dish.

Gastronomy Inc’s Bangkok Fish Cakes (RM 6.00) came with a sizeable portion of deep fried fish meat served with lemongrass stalks and Thai chilli sauce.

The Pineapple Glazed Lamb was satisfactorily done with flavours that replicate the ubiquitous Chinese Pai Kuat Wong rice. The sweet and savoury layer of tomato gravy was delicious while the lamb did not have any unfavourable gamey odour. Gastronomy Inc is currently running a promotion where a complimentary drink will be included with this dish between 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. / 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Gastronomy Inc’s western offerings include Grilled Lamb Shoulder with Homemade Mint Sauce (RM 21.80) and Grilled Home Marinated Chicken Chop (RM 15.00).

Crystal is also proud to feature her new signature dessert called ‘Banana in Blanket with Vanilla Ice-Cream’ (RM 8.80) where sliced bananas are wrapped with a thin layer of crepe made from flour.

The Ice Fruit Jelly (RM 7.80) was a refreshing dessert with an assortment of textured jellies mixed with longan.

While the restaurant is relatively new, Crystal’s catering business has been around much longer thus providing an assurance of good tasting local favourites such as the Mee Siam with Fried Chicken. While some portion of the building is still under work in progress, it will be interesting to see whether Wisma Scope will turn out to be another food haven in time to come with more diverse brands opening at this new office premise.
