Offering authentic Italian cuisines, Urbano e Fresco strives to delights food lovers with its range of dishes using only the best quality ingredients. Urbano e Fresco derives its name from two words; ‘urban’ and ‘fresh’ which literally translate to a fresh look to an urban setting. Opened since three years ago, Urbano e Fresco clearly embodies the vision of its owner, Farbod Sadeghian who aim to cater good food to Italian food enthusiasts at a nice and trendy Italian restaurant.
The quiet interior mirrors its cosy environment with clean white walls and a prominent wooden shelf that houses a range of imported organic Italian products for sale, further bolstering its authentic Italian offerings. The family themed restaurant also draws a consistent number of regular customers throughout the day, whether it is for lunch or dinner as well as larger crowds for company events, birthday parties and even workshops.
Their Eggplant Formaggio (RM 17.50) was a wonderful combination of layered roasted eggplants baked with mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese. It has a pleasant savoury taste which was a nice way to start off a meal.
The Spinaci (RM 22.90) was an instant attraction with deep hues of green baby spinach leaves contrasted with creamy white feta cheese, fresh strawberries and crunchy almonds flakes. Taste wise, one can expect an interesting mix of flavours from its assorted ingredients tossed in balsamic vinegar.
Priced at RM 79.90, the Urbano’s Grilled Italian Platter will certainly delight meat lovers with a slab black angus rib eye, chicken breast, chicken sausages and sirloin steak thrown into the mix. Customers can also choose between corn, grill mix vegetables (capsicum, broccoli, carrot, onion and beans) and mash potatoes for the side dish.
It was a real meat feast with the Black Angus rib eye being my favourite choice for its tender, juicy and flavourful taste.
The Margherita Pizza (RM 19.90) which was popularly believed to be named after Queen Margherita as its creation resembles the colours of the Italian flag, red (tomatoes), white (mozzarella cheese) and green (basil) was the signature pizza in Urbano e Fresco. The pizza came with authentic Italian thin crust with a choice of three sizes: 9ins, 12ins and 15ins. It was a light pizza with simple ingredients which stay true to the classic Italian style of preparing it.
Customers will be rewarded with a light, airy and delicate texture of their Tiramisu (RM 10.90). The taste was very balance without being overly sweet. The rich creaminess of mascarpone was definitely the best part of the dessert and something that warrants another round just for sheer indulgence.
Urbano e Fresco will be expanding its operation with the opening two new branches in the near future (Ara Damansara and at a new development area at Ayer Keroh). The restaurant will certainly be a brand to look out for in terms of authentic Italian offerings that carries a taste of Italy with every bite taken.
